Awake in our Bones
Embodied Awareness in Yoga and Daily Life
This daylong workshop will link Buddhist meditation practice and the Ashtanga Yoga system, exploring techniques to bring more awareness into our bodies and our daily lives. Martin and Ryan will support each person’s yoga and meditation practice by drawing on classical teachings in mindfulness and contemplation and contemporary approaches to personal and relational inquiry. There will be periods of meditation, yoga posture practice and group dialogue. We will have time to meet and explore together, ask questions and enter into dialogue with Martin and Ryan. Suitable for both beginning and experienced practitioners of yoga and/or meditation.
Any complete path of inner transformation has to address every area of our lives. Awareness practices such as Yoga and meditation have real significance when the benefits are felt not just during practice but in every moment of life. The workshop is designed for integrating the presence and insights of Yoga and meditation practice into the whole of your life, and using the power of reflection to explore the unconscious reactivity and habit patterns that get hold of us in our work, realtionships etc. If you are new to meditation, the guided meditations will give a good support to both establishing a meditation practice, and having it be applied throughout your life.
